Election Results at Weiser
WEISER—The election held on Tuesday resulted in the election of Dr. Hamilton as mayor with a narrow majority of 50 votes over his opponent, Gooding. Other elected officials include S. H. Travis as clerk, Mary B. Linderman as treasurer, and R. T. Waliston as engineer.
Councilmen elected were F.H. Townley and G.W. Garrett for the First Ward, R.T. Black and W.W. Ferris for the Second Ward, and J.A. Young and W.M. Maxwell for the Third Ward.
The election was highly contested, with Travis narrowly defeating Bond by just 21 votes. Both Travis and Mrs. Linderman were re-elected, having served the city faithfully for several years—Travis for sixteen years and Mrs. Linderman for six years. The election saw the highest voter turnout in any city election held in Weiser, with women voters playing a significant role.
