Sept. 30, 1891 – Dec. 10, 1989
Petra M. Harris, of Weiser,   died Sunday, Dec. 10, 1989, at a Weiser care center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at St. Catherine’s Church, Weiser. Father Mel Sprute will be celebrant.
Followed by burial at Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs. Harris was born Sept. 30, 1891, at Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of William and Rebecca McLaughlin Reader. She moved to Weiser with her family and attended St. Teresa Academy with her sister, Beth, in Boise.
She graduated from Weiser High School in 1911. She married James Harris on Feb. 10, 1915, in Weiser. Mrs. Harris was employed at Weiser Ice and Cold Storage and, during World War II, she was in charge of the office of Price Administration. In 1955, she retired from the City of Weiser at the age of 65 as a billing clerk. She was very involved with the local blood banks and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, William F. Harris of Clemson, S.C.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sons, Peter and Joan.
