Crane Creek Reservoir

Located in Washington County off Crane Road, Northwest of Weiser.
The 3,200-acre irrigation reservoir is placed in the semiarid foothills of the West Mountains on Crane Creek. There is not much vegetation around the lake, mostly sagebrush and grasslands. Although, there are some pretty interesting rock colors and formations near the shores.
The reservoir is usually low by late summer, making it difficult to fish or launch a boat. The water is often turbid.
Depsite these conditions, the reservoir grows very large black and white crappie. Channel catfish are abundant.
Facilities include parking, campsites, and boat ramps. A number of birds are attracted to the reservoir due to its arid surrounding including raptors, shorebirds, songbirds, upland birds, waterbirds, and waterfowl.
The water is stocked with crappie, catfish, and bass.
