Kathleen Johns Wennstrom has reported that her father, Lester Earl Johns, 89, of McCall, passed away Thursday April 27, 2000 at McCall.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday May 1 at Hillcrest Cemetery, under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home.
Earl was born eb 7/1911 at Weiser, the son of David Edgar and Alice (Johnson) Johns. He was raised and educated at Weiser graduating from Weiser High School in 1929. Earl worked with his brother learning the auto upholstering business in Boise and then returned to Weiser to help his father in the harness shop.
Earl married Olive Sinden on July 18 1936 at Nampa. In 1942 Olive began working with Earl in the shop. They worked together as owners of Johns Leather Goods until 1973 when they sold the store and retired to McCall.
Olive died in 1976, Earl married Marlys Cruickshank in May 1977 at McCall. They enjoyed a life of volunteer work and travel until Earl’s recent illness.
Earl was active in Lions Clubs International Masonic Lodge Scottish Rite and El Korah Shrine and the Chamber of Commerce for many years. Earl enjoyed flying, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles.
Survivors include wife Marlys, two daughters Whitney Lindquist and Kathleen Wennstrom, stepchildren Linda Schellenger, Gordon Cruickshank and Marvin Cruickshank and their spouses, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made in his name to the McCall Baptist Church PO Box 1738 McCall 83638 and Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children co El Korah Temple Box 1127 Boise 83701.
