Weiser Fire & Rescue

Weiser Fire and Rescue was established on January 11, 1900. Our department houses three Fire Engines, one 110 foot light tip Ladder Truck, one Rescue/Rehab  Truck, and one Brush Truck. In a separate building we have the department’s first fire engine, a 1932 Howe Fire Engine. We are currently in the process of trying to restore the Howe.

Weiser Fire and Rescue is a combination department of full time and paid per call employees.  At this time we have one full time Station Manager and a part time Chief. Usually our department staffs around 30 firefighters and has up to five junior firefighters. Our junior firefighters are under 18 and train along with our senior firefighters with the exception of some training due to safety such as live fire.

Weiser Fire and Rescue has fire code officials available for fire inspections that are to be done on a yearly basis. We also teach fire prevention to the Weiser School Districts yearly, which includes Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade students. High school students are given a presentation  from all emergency  departments  called Every 15 Minutes. This program is a demonstration that shows the students  what can result from Drinking and Driving.

Weiser Fire and Rescue is currently under an ISO Rating of 4, which is a good rating for a community such as Weiser’s. Our Department responds to approximately 100 fire related calls each year. We also participate in several community functions and fundraisers. Such as the community 4th of July fireworks show which we host every year.

We also participate in the Angel Wings Network “Think  Pink Day,” where we bring our fire truck wrapped in pink paper for survivor and memorial signing.
