Ann Marie Moulton
Ann Marie (Moulton) Peterson, 77, of Meridian, Idaho, went to be with Jesus Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Grace Memory Care in Meridian.
Marie was born in Weiser, Idaho, on Sept. 28, 1931, to William Jonathan ‘Bill’ and Mary Keith (Taylor) Mouton. Her siblings were Richard ‘Dick’ Moulton and Alma (Moulton) Hornfelt. She graduated from Weiser High School in 1949. The following year she met Elmer Peterson at the University of Idaho, and they were married on June 26, 1951, in Weiser, Idaho.
Marie and Elmer together lived in Moscow, Boise, Pocatello, and Burley, Idaho; Billings, Mont.; Charlottesville, Va.; and finally Meridian, Idaho.
Marie was a 50+ year member with P.E.O – Philanthropic Educational Organization and DAR – Daughters of the American Revolution. Her passions were researching history and genealogy. She was a longtime member of both The National Society of Washington Family Descendants and The National Society of Madison Family Descendants. She loved playing Bridge and was involved with several groups everywhere they lived.
Marie is survived by her two sons, Vernon Ricky ‘Rick’ Peterson and Gregory Peterson of Meridian, Idaho, and her daughter, LeAnne (Todd) Gannett of Coos Bay/North Bend, Ore. She has two grandsons, Robert and David Peterson of Meridian, Idaho, and granddaughter, Christen Gannett of Coos Bay/North Bend, Ore.; a sister, Alma (Archie) Hornfelt of Florence, Ore.; and a sister-in-law, Bev Moulton of Klamath Falls, Ore. She has numerous very close first cousins in the surrounding northwest.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary; her husband, Elmer (July 26, 2009), and her brother, Dick.
Memorials may be made in Marie’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association (1111 S. Orchard St., Ste. #200, Boise, ID 83705-1922) or Accent Hospice (1857 Millennium Way, Ste #120, Meridian, ID 83642-1510).
