This is what I found out about Crystal. Clinton C. Glascock, brother of my great grandfather Daniel “Tuck”, homesteaded the Crystal area by Weiser, Washington County, Idaho in 1875. There was a triangle and they built a two story house.
Clinton was born on March 12, 1838 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Spencer and Sarah Glascock. He crossed the plains by an immigrant train when he was 12 going to Calif. where he resided until 1863. That year he came to Idaho with his brother Charles as a prospector. After a short stay, they returned to Calif. until 1873 when they returned to Idaho.
Clinton served as a scout for the army under the leadership of the late Thomas C. Galloway in an Indian uprising.
According to the page of Progressive Men of Southern Idaho by A.W. Bowen & Co., Clinton claimed the land on his farm by cleaning out the sagebrush and started farming and raising livestock. He was regarded as one of the representative citizen of this part of the county. His brother Charles’ place of death, was listed as Crystal Bottom.
Clinton married a lady named Ella Lucinda Langley in Baker, Oregon on February,19, 1880.. They had 2 sons and three daughters. Clinton lived on the ranch until his death on February 26, 1922 in Weiser, Idaho.
There is a road named after all the Glascocks in the Crystal Area.

OIL AND GAS COMPANY NAMES NEW OFFICERS
WEISER (Special) — The Crystal Dome Oil and Gas Company invites the public to observe drilling operations on Sunday at the hill north of Crystal.
Despite some challenges at the well, including the breaking of a couple of lengths of large casing at the bottom of the hole, the issues have been resolved, and drilling has resumed.
The company has undergone recent reorganization, resulting in the election of new officers: B. P. Kramlich, formerly of Walla Walla, as president; George L. Petrashek of Weiser as vice president; and Charles F. Reddoch of Boise as secretary-treasurer. Roy Batten and B. P. Goble complete the board of directors.

CRYSTAL DOME DRILLERS GET BIG GAS WELL
A significant gas well discovery occurred at the Crystal Dome site, located between Weiser and Payette. The flow was struck at a depth of 1865 feet, yielding an estimated five million cubic feet of gas daily, with potential for further development up to 35 million cubic feet per day.
George Petrashek, vice president of the Crystal Dome Oil Company, expressed optimism about the discovery, stating, “We have a well—a real well and are happy.” He confirmed reports of the well gassing and noted that it was throwing about five million cubic feet at midnight and still “going strong.”
Reports indicated that drillers encountered a heavy flow of gas, prompting them to cap the well. Gas was rushing up the well through 500 feet of uncleared dry sand, with a large quantity escaping through the leaking cap. Work was underway to tap a pipeline…
