Aug 9, 1905 – May 2, 1975
Graveside services for R. Lynn Parsons, 70, of Weiser, who passed away Sunday at a Weiser hospital, will be conducted at 12 p.m. today at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser. Dr. Leonard Reifel will officiate, with Masonic rites by Weiser Lodge No. 23, AF&AM, under the direction of Northam-Jones Funeral Home.
Born on August 9, 1905, in Payette, Lynn Parsons attended schools there. In 1926, he moved to Boise and worked for C.C. Anderson Co. and later for Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Co. On February 7, 1929, he married Altha Mae Epperson in Boise. They resided in Payette, where he managed the Bancroft Hotel. Later, they relocated to Boise, where he worked as an agent for Pacific Mutual. In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II. In 1946, the family moved to Weiser, where he founded Parsons Packing & Supply Co.
Lynn Parsons was actively involved in various organizations, including St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Weiser Elks Lodge No. 1683, Masonic Lodge No. 23, Knights Templar, Royal Arch Masons, El Korah Shrine Temple in Boise, Payette Shrine Club, Idaho-Eastern Oregon Onion Shippers Association, and the Payette County Band. He also served as financial chairman for the Nick Sperepulos Memorial Club.
Survivors include his wife, Altha, of Weiser; a son, Robert, also of Weiser; a brother, Edward, of Payette; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Horton of Payette and Mrs. Kathrine Davis of Boise; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Fuller.
Memorial donations may be made to Crippled Children’s Hospital in care of El Korah Temple, Mountain States Tumor Institute, Elks Rehabilitation Center, Memorial Hospital in Weiser, or to a favorite charity.
