Kessel K. Kirk, 86, of Ontario, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1993, i
An Ontario care center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the First Christian Church, Ontario. Pastor Steve Brabb will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Ontario.
Kessel was born Feb. 28, 1906, at Reimsville, Kan., a son of Karl and Bessie Ruby Kirk. He graduated from Weiser High School. He then attended the Salt Lake Barber College, then worked for several years as a barber. He went to diesel mechanic school in the state of Idaho.
He was an active member of the First Christian Church in which he held the office of deacon.
Kessel enjoyed the great outdoors, carpentry work, cabinet building, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known for being a quiet man and for his patience.
Survivors include his wife, Verna Kirk of Ontario; two daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Don) Brown of Westpoint, Calif., and Delores (Mrs. Wayne) Palmer of Ontario; a brother, Merit Kirk of Middleton; a sister, Mrs. Doris Black of Newport, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kessel C. Kirk; two brothers; and two grandchildren.
