Elizabeth (Peterson) Kerlin
Elizabeth P Kerlin, 84, of Twin Falls went home to her Heavenly Father at SunBridge Care Center in Twin Falls on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, was born May 1, 1920, on her parents’ farm in Weiser, Idaho, Her parents were Willis and Alverna Peterson. She attended school in Weiser, graduating in 1938 and then attended McPherson College in McPherson, Kan. Elizabeth received  her teacher’s certificate in 1947 and taught at Weiser, Idaho.
On Nov, 23, 1950, Elizabeth married Dwight Paul Miller Kerlin at Weiser. To this union was born a son, Benjamin Dwight (Christine) Kerlin of Twin Falls, Idaho, and a daughter, Verna Kay (Stephen) Rich of Deltona, Fla. Elizabeth lived out on the family farm until her husband’s death Sept. 17, 1962.
Elizabeth worked at many jobs to raise her children. She worked at Asgrow Seed Company in Filer, the Salvation Army Thrift Store of Twin Falls and J&P Enterprises, Inc. She also worked at Skyview and Hazeldell Manors and the ‘Twin Falls American Red Cross. Following her retirement, Elizabeth pursued what became the loves of her life, ceramics and traveling with her church group at the Baptist Church. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and the Baptist Church of Twin
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Benjamin (Christine) Kerlin of Twin Falls; and her daughter, Verna (Stephen) Rich of Deltona, Fla; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Gabe) McClain of Boise, Jason Dwight Kerlin of Twin Falls and Michael, David and Graig Rich of Deltona, Fla.; her great- Margaret Norbom of Weiser, Idaho, and Wilma (Don) Hammer of Ontario, Ore; sister-in-law, Virginia Bowman of Palmyra, N.Y; plus many nieces, nephews and family.
They all loved and respected her and will feel this great loss in their lives, Mom, you held the hand in our lives and will forever touch our hearts.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Kerlin; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Willis Peterson; her parents-in-law, the Rev. B. D. Kerlin and Charlotte Kerlin; her sister, Mary Jane Peterso1 and her brother-in-law, Norbert Norbom,
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Reynolds Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ken Gould officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Falls Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. on Sunday at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
