R. PHILLIP CUTTING
WEISER — Services for R. Phillip Cutting, 87, a longtime Weiser resident who died Saturday at a Weiser hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Marvin Blake officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest.
He was born Oct. 6, 1881, at Danville, Ill. He married Lulu M. Williams on April 4, 1904, at Butte, Mont. The couple moved to Weiser in 1909 and opened the Cutting Drug Store. He retired in October 1944. Mrs. Cutting preceded him in death on Nov. 6, 1953. He was a member of the Weiser Chamber of Commerce, Weiser Masonic Lodge No. 23, El Korah Shrine Temple, and All York Rite Bodies. He was a past president of Kiwanis and past president of the Idaho Pharmaceutical Association.
He served on the fund-raising committee for the Weiser Memorial Hospital and on the hospital board. He served as chairman of the local draft board and was active in the Episcopal church.
He is survived by one son, Glenn P. Cutting, Madison, Wis.; one daughter, Mrs. Oscar W. Worthwine, Santa Ana, Calif.; one brother, George T. Cutting, Asheville, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Francis Stentz, Kalispell, Mont.; four grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Northam-Jones Chapel until 11 p.m. Wednesday.
