Two Drug Stores to Serve Weiser
WEISER — Despite Phil Cutting selling his drug business to Robert Baker, owner of Thriftway Drug Store, there will be no reduction in the number of drug stores in Weiser, Baker clarified on Thursday. Both stores will remain operational at their current locations.
The Cutting Store, situated at the corner of Main and West State Streets, has been serving the community for over 35 years. Meanwhile, the Thriftway Store, established by Baker a few years ago, stands on West Main Street, not far from the federal building.
Baker asserted that he would personally oversee the business acquired from Cutting. Additionally, Hal Matthews will continue managing the Thriftway Store, while Ray Trembly, the longstanding pharmacist at Cuttings, will retain his position under the new ownership.
