Edna M. (Shirts) Burton, age 90, a resident of Downers Grove, and formerly of Midwest City, OK, died Tuesday, February 24, at Rest Haven West in Downers Grove. She was born July 11, 1913 in Weiser, ID. Edna was a member of Wickline United Methodist Church in Midwest City, OK. She and her husband, Eugene Burton, belonged to a square dance club in the Midwest City area. She especially enjoyed gardening and oil painting.
She is survived by her daughter, Lila Bishop of Warrenville, IL; her step-children, Betty Weber, and Eugene Burton; her sister, Ethel Silkeft; her brother, Frank Shirts; her two half-sisters, Jean Baird, and Margaret Maine; and her half-brother, Tom Hopper. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Burton; her sister, Geneva Koch; and her half-sister, Lucille Hepp.
Services will be held at Bull Eisenhour Northeast Chapel on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Kolb Cemetery in Spencer, OK under the direction of Bull Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home. Mrs. Burton’s family will receive friends at the funeral home Tues., March 2, 2004 from 6:00-8:00 PM. BILL EISENHOUR NORTHEAST 769-3362 8805 NE 23RD STREET
