1891

January — High school library established. Lula and Mamie Applegate died of diphtheria. Wm Parker froze to death on Woody Mt. Mrs. Jacob Moore and Zella Werts established a millinery store. The Passiel whist club organized.
February — Craven & Mills opened a meat market. Effort made for state agricultural college at Weiser. Dr. Sturley arrived from Silver City, New Mexico. Prof. VanSice and singing school gave a concert on Mann Creek.
March — W.A. Lyon arrived from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and opened a blacksmith shop. Ben Kivert and Maggie Nevin married. R.E. Lockwood and Norah Wilson married. A. Sears built a concrete building. Mrs. C.R. White died at Meadows.
April — N.F. Kimball of Boise advertised alfalfa. Caswell, Huntly & Co. ran a meat market at Seven Devils. Lyman Parkhurst started a brewery at Seven Devils.
May — Col. Drake and bride arrived from Kansas City. Farmers’ Alliance organized. Brush grubbed off Watlington addition.
June — Jones & Matthews opened a corral. Geo V. Leighton arrived from Condon, Oregon.
July — Thos. Ranahap located on his ranch below town. M.L. Vial of Baker City visited Weiser and did watch repairing. Cha.s B. Monneth and Edna M. Tracy married. Frank Mitchell began the study of medicine. Robert Morehead died at Scio, Oregon.
August — Judge Ivory moved to Mineral. H.S. King retired as editor of the Leader. Ed Brannan of Crane advocated for a wagon road from that place to Weiser. M.L. Vial located in Weiser. Leader absorbed by the Signal.
September — Al Hopkins bought the old court house for $125. Artesian Water Co. organized. Money contributed for a well at Moore’s Hollow.
October — B. Snow of Indian Valley delivered his “Footprints of World’s History.” Burnett brothers of Mineral were over selling beef steers. J.W. Ayers and W.M. Walker visited Baker City.
November — John Lympus killed by overturned stage near Salubria.
December —  N.F. Kimball and W.B. Kuriz of Boise bought half interest in the mill. Brose & Harvey, real estate dealers, dissolved partnership.
