Jerry Agnew
Jerry T. Agnew, 80, passed away February 20, 2014 at his winter home in Arizona. He was born on October 31, 1933 to Samuel T. and Marguerite Agnew in Rogers, AK. The family started a westward migration when Jerry was two years old. He grew up in Salem, OR. In 1950 the family moved to Weiser, ID where Mr. Agnew opened a new grocery store. Jerry finished high school in Weiser and worked in the family business. In November 1952 he married his high school sweetheart, Jean Beck. Jerry spent many years in the grocery business coming to Nampa in 1964, where he owned Jerry’s Mart for 10 years before becoming a salesman for Idaho Candy Co. He said it was the best 22 years of his life. He loved golf and was a member at Centennial Golf Course for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean, two daughters, Linda Cade, Cushing, TX; Lorie MeGehee, Salem, OR., and son Darin, Boise, ID., four grandchildren: Austin Cade, Lindsey Chacon, Breanna MeGehee, and Keegan MeGehee, brother, Don (Bobbie) Fariport, NY, nephews, David (Marcia) and Dan, Rochester, NY.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM at First United Presbyterian church in Nampa, 400 Lake Lowell Ave. Donations may be made to the First United Presbyterian church in Nampa or to your favorite charity .
His wife Jean Beck was in the same class.
