Everett Harold Monteer, 84, Weiser, passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at a Weiser care center. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Thomason Funeral Chapel, Weiser.
Everett was born July 1, 1920, in Weiser, the son of Harold and Ella Mae Monteer. He attended Weiser area schools and graduated from Weiser High School in 1940.
Everett married Mary Musgrove on Jan. 17, 1943.
A veteran of World War II, Everett volunteered for military service in the fall of 1943 and served in Germany until 1945. After the war, he returned to Weiser, where he farmed and ranched on the Weiser Flat for many years. He also worked for the Weiser School District from 1955 to 1983.
Survivors include his wife Mary Monteer and daughter Barbara (Wayne) Davies, all of Weiser, and daughter Mary Ann (Joe) Wikott of Payette; a brother, Donald (Noma) Monteer; and sisters Ora Murphy and Evelyn Gabbert; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Ballard.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in his name to a favorite charity.
