Major John E. McAdams
Major John E. Adams, USAF retired, 67 of Eagle, died Saturday, August, 19, 1989, at Cascade, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 24, at Summers Funeral Home, Eagle. Pastor Bill McKenzie of the Cascade Baptist Church will officiate.  Burial will follow in Star Cemetery.
Major McAdams was born Nov. 28, 1921, at Boise, the son of Fred W. McAdams and Hazel Roark McAdams. He graduated from Weiser High School. He began his military career in 1938 by entering the 116th United States Horse Calvaary at Weiser. In 1940 he entered the Conscription of the National Guards. He was a 23 year veteran of the USAF, retiring in 1963 to farm at Eagle.
He married Judith L. Johnson on March 4, 1944, at Los Angeles.
Survivors include his wife, Judith of Eagle; two sons, John W. McAdams of Kuna, and Jack W. McAdams of Eagle; one daughter, Julianna Sparks of Dallas, Ore.; two brothers, Tom McAdams of Boise and Hank McAdams of Baker, Ore.; three sisters, Ruth Wilkins and June Long, both of Ontario, Ore., and Shirley Carrier of Boise; and 6 grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents and a brother.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, Child Evangelism of Boise, or the Boise Rescue Mission.
Friends may call today from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at Summers Funeral Home, Eagle.
