Three months ago as missing in action on Dec. 25, 1944, Lt. Thomas C. Woods Jr. of the Weiser area was killed in action in Belgium on that date, according to information received from the War Department by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Woods, and his wife, who is residing with his parents.
Mrs. Woods said that since receiving the missing in action announcement, no additional information was forthcoming until they were notified the lieutenant was killed last Christmas Day.
He graduated from Weiser High School and was a student at the University of Idaho immediately preceding his induction in April 1943. He was married on Dec. 25, 1948, to Miss Barbara Matoon of Kooskia. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Woods, who reside on a farm in the Haas neighborhood. His father formerly served as clerk of the district court of Washington County.
