Almon Frederick “Al” Heavrin

Obituary

Sept. 19, 1929 – July 5, 2021
Buried at Brownlee Cemetery
Al Frederick
On Monday, July 5, 2021, Almon Fredrick Heavrin passed away at the age of 91. Almon (known as Al), one of nine siblings, was born in 1929 in Banks, Idaho to Harrison “Harry” Heavrin and Alice Heavrin.
Al graduated from Emmett High School in 1949 and spent most of his life living in or near Sweet.
He married Dorothy Salazar on November 24, 1957. They raised three sons, Craig, Bruce, and Clark, and one daughter Cynthia.
Al was known as a rancher, dry land farmer, fence builder, cowboy, mechanic, and an all-around good guy who could fix almost anything and would lend a helping hand to any neighbor or friend in need. For most of his career, his job title was “Foreman” on the ranch known as Soldier Creek, located at the end of Liberty Road. He ran the ranch like his own, putting in endless hours to ensure successful crops and livestock production. His fence building was legendary, known for its sturdy build and perfectly straight lines.
He retired to a residence in Sweet, and after 40 years of marriage, his wife Dorothy preceded him in an unexpected death. His passion became caring for the Brownlee Cemetery where she rests.
He was also known for his well-kept yard at his home in Sweet, was often seen sitting in a chair under a shade tree with his faithful dog, extending a friendly wave and smile to passing neighbors.
