Anna (Hale) Moon

Obituary

Class of 1911
Aug. 18, 1892 – Sept. 4, 1975
Anna M. Moon, 84, a longtime resident of Gridley, died Friday at Memorial Hospital.
A native of Weiser, Idaho, born August 18, 1892, she had been a resident of Gridley since 1928 when she and her husband, the late Dr. R. A. Moon purchased a home on Laurel Street. He had been the minister of the Christian Church for many years and was also a practicing chiropractor in the area years ago. The family also operated a small chicken business. Dr. Moon preceded her in death in 1961.
Early in their married life, the Moons moved often following calls to the ministry in many areas. Shortly after their only son, Charles was born in 1915, the family traveled to Alaska where Dr. Moon taught the Suisitna Indians. Mrs. Moon was active in the Christian Church until her death last Friday.
Survivors include her son Charles of Willits; a brother, Dr. William Hale of Alhambra; a sister, Mrs. Kate Hansen of Emmett, Idaho; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Gridley Funeral Chapel with Aaron Brown, minister of the Christian Church officiating. Organist Bob Fife accompanied the vocalist, Vic Parker, who sang “Going Home” and “Beyond the Blue Horizon.” Interment was in the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society in her name are suggested by the family and can be left at the chapel.
