Charles E. Jackson, 74, Weiser, Idaho, died Sunday, May 24, 1998, at a Weiser hospital.
He was the husband of the former Hope Heleker, an MHS graduate of 1943, whose father was Marshall County sheriff.
Services were at 3 p.m. May 28 from Thomason Funeral Chapel, Weiser. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 30, 1923, at Weiser, and graduated from Weiser High School in 1941. He attended Northwestern Business School in Spokane, Wash., and joined the Army Air Force in 1942. He graduated from Washington State University in 1950 with a degree in business. He opened his own business, Charles E. Jackson, CPA, in 1960. He was on the Weiser City Council two terms and was active in community affairs. In 1979, he was named Boss of the Year, and in 1986, he was the Washington County Distinguished Citizen.
He and his wife, E. Hope Heleker, were married 51 years.
Survivors are his wife; daughters, Janet Koskella, Gail Starkey, and Debie Prince; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Mehlhaff; a twin brother, Frank Jackson, and a brother, Richard Jackson.
Memorials in his name may be given to the Weiser Community Church, 240 East Main, Weiser, ID 83672, or Weiser Memorial Hospital, 645 East 5th, Weiser, ID 83672.
