Searching Tip – Use the least amount of words necessary, and choose the correct name from the results. (e.g. “Jones,” not “T Jones,” “T. Jones,” “TS Jones,” “T.S. Jones,” “Ted Jones,” etc. – just “Jones.”)
Commercial Street looking West across State Street – 1893
That would be the Vendome Hotel visible on the Northwest Corner (I believe the Weiser Hotel wasn’t located near the depot until 1895-96 and would be located where you can see wagon wheels in the photo on the Southeast corner). On the Southwest corner would be the Idaho Commercial Company building. The three stores on the Northeast corner (in 1893) would be the Jenney & Waterhouse drug store directly across the street from the Vendome, then the building with the awning would be a general store, and the building closest would by M. Johnston’s Saloon (he had one of the few lamp posts in Weiser in front of his saloon in 1893 and it is visible in the photo).
