Darla (Hurd) Whiting of Weiser, Idaho passed away June 10, 2019 in Bountiful, Utah, surrounded by her family and kids.
Darla  was born in Weiser, Idaho on April 22, 1953 to W.D. (Dee) and Edna Hurd. She married James (Jim) Whiting (deceased) on August 24, 1971, in the Oakland City Temple in Oakland, California. They had six children: Kelly (Laura) Whiting of Magna, Utah, Tyson Whiting of Council, Idaho, Claudia Whiting of Ogden, Utah, Elizabeth (Robert) Richens of Myton, Utah, Sandi Whiting of Vernal, Utah, John Whiting of Bountiful, Utah.
She was a grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandkids.
After graduating from Weiser High School in Weiser, Idaho in 1971, she attended ISU Vo-Tech in Pocatello, Idaho, graduating with a business certificate.
Through her marriage to Jim they lived in Gallup, New Mexico; Mandreen, North Dakota; Plummer, Idaho; and Roosevelt, Utah, where they lived for 26 years before retiring in Weiser, Idaho.
Darla is survived by her children, her grandchildren and her siblings: Dwight (Therese) Hurd of Weiser, Idaho; Diann(Dan) Haynes of Nampa, Idaho; Teresa (Scott) Mansor of New Meadows, Idaho; Budd (Lori) Hurd of Lewiston, Idaho; Monte (Kris) Hurd of Weiser, Idaho and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held at Thomason Funeral Home 221 East Court Street, Weiser, Idaho from 6 to 8 pm on June 20, 2019. Funeral Services will be held on June 21, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 300 E Main Street in Weiser, Idaho at 11 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser, Idaho.
