Darryl Alder
Funeral for Darryl Paul Alder, 64, will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A 9 a.m. viewing will precede the service. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Alder, who died Thursday, was born in Malheur County, Annex, Ore. He served an LDS mission in the Gulf States Mission.
He married Josephine Bybee in 1964 in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Mr. Alder was an 11-year resident of Idaho Falls, where he worked as a night auditor at Holiday Inn and later assistant manager at Ramada Inn. In 1976 he was transferred to the Spokane Ramada Inn, working there until 1983.
He also worked for the physical facilities management department as a custodian for the LDS Church until his retirement in 2000.
Mr. Alder enjoyed gardening, genealogy, and cross-stitching.
Survivors include his wife; four children, Alice Anderson of Mead, Andrew Alder of Deer Park, and Paul Alder and Caleb Rommel, both of Spokane; a brother, Allan Alder of Hermiston, Ore.; two sisters, Anita Taylor of Kuna, Idaho, and Susan Schulties of Nyssa, Ore.; and 11 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Guilds’ School.
