Oct. 22, 1916 – Aug. 9, 1983
Davina M. Cummock, 66, of 333 So. Straughn St. #201, died Aug. 9, 1983, at home of natural causes.
Services will be conducted on Thursday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. at Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Saperstein of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Morris Hill Cemetery.
She was born in Boise on Oct. 22, 1916, to Henry P. and Grayce Nelson Cummock. In 1918, she moved with her parents to Weiser, Idaho, where she was reared and educated. She attended the University of Idaho and taught in Cambridge, Idaho, from 1936-38, when she left to complete her schooling at UCLA in Los Angeles. She worked as cashier of the Idaho State Motor Vehicle Department in 1941-42 and later as Washington County Tax Clerk at Weiser, Idaho. In 1944, she moved to Portland, Ore. where she resided until returning to Boise in 1951. She was employed as Agency Assistant to the Manager of The Equitable Life Assurance Society until resigning in 1962, to open her own business, The Tallstyle Shop, which she operated until retirement in 1978. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, the Altrusa Club of Boise and the Ladies Oriental Shrine.
Survivors include several aunts and cousins.
Friends may call at Summers Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Mountain States Tumor Institute or to a favorite charity.
