Everett Peery
MILWAUKIE, Ore. — Everett David Peery, BA, MS, ED.D, passed away Monday, May 10, 2004, at the age of 84. Dr. Peery died peacefully in his sleep.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, May 14, at 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Rose Villa Retirement Center. Interment is at Willamette National Cemetery at 10 a.m. Friday.
He was born in Weiser, Idaho, on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1919, to John Roy “Jack” and L.C. Peery. He married Lorys Nadine Jones on June 11, 1939, in Weiser. The family moved to Eugene, then to Klamath Falls, Billings, and then finally to Milwaukie to retire. Mrs. Lorys Peery died on March 11, 1998, after 49 years of marriage. Dr. Peery then married Frances Hunter on April 22, 2001. Dr. Peery was the Director of Special Education and Speech Therapy for the Klamath Falls School District and held the position of Coordinator Director, Montana Center for Cerebral Palsy and Handicapped Children until his retirement in 1980, at which time he was granted Professor Emeritus status, Eastern Montana College.
Everett Peery is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorys; and brother, Cass. Dr. Peery is survived by his wife, Frances Hunter Peery; children Faith Nadine Hoffman of Milwaukie, David Clark Peery of Wisconsin Falls, Wis., and Donald James Peery of Oregon City; sister, E. Marie Medford of Stockton, Calif.; seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends and colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to the Oak Grove Methodist Building Fund.
