POCATELLO — Fred Clifton Carroll, 92, a longtime resident of Pocatello, passed away Saturday evening, October 23, 1999, at a local medical center. He was born April 15, 1907, at Rouse Junction, Colorado, to Robert and Ethel Carroll. He received his education in Weiser and attended the University of Idaho. He married Ina Gilmer December 21, 1931. She preceded him in death. He later married Lillie Dixon in 1985.
During his lifetime he worked as assistant manager of Pardo Sheep and Land Company, Shell Oil Company and worked as a conductor and brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad for 39 years. He enjoyed trapshooting, music, boating, and fishing. He was active in several fraternal organizations, including Portneuf Lodge No. 18, AF and AM, Scottish Rites bodies, the El Korah Shrine, Southeast Shriners Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 119, and the Retired Eagles Activity Club. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Carroll; a sister, Dorothy Crawford; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ina; a son, Fred Dennis Carroll; and a daughter, Sally Hall.
Memorial graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, October 27, 1999, at 2 p.m. in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Henderson-Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave.
