Freida Attebery
Freida Attebery Strong, a long-time resident of Weiser, was called home with Our Lord, on Thursday, July 27, 2017, with family by her side.
Freida was born in Weiser, Idaho, on September 22, 1920, to Henry Attebery and Maude Brown Attebery. She was the oldest of their 3 children. She was raised and attended school in the Mann Creek area and moved to Weiser with her grandparents when she started high school. Freida graduated from Weiser High School in 1938.
After graduation, she went to work for Frank Ryan has is legal secretary. In June of 1942, she met the love of her life, Floyd Strong. They were married on August 8, 1942, in Payette, Idaho. With this marriage came four children, LeRoy, Margie, Mike and Sherry. They moved several times after Floyd return home from the war and finally ended up back in Weiser. Freida worked for Ryan and Sweet and then for Sweet and Masingill until her retirement in March of 1983.
Freida (Attebery) Strong
Freida was a long-time member of the Weiser Worship Center and faithfully attended until her health would no longer permit it. She was very proud of her children and cherished her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandchildren.
Freida was preceded in death by her husband of almost 61 years, her parents, sister Laverna and her husband Doug Weitzel, brother Earl Attebery, her husband’s brothers and sisters, granddaughter Erin Smith and great granddaughter Autumn Smith.
Freida is survived by her children, LeRoy (Winnie) Strong, Margie (Tom) Anderson, Mike Strong, and Sherry (Keith) Young. Her grandchildren, Michelle Mallea, Pepsi (Tony) Odoms, Cody (Suzanne) Strong, Travis (Tracy) Young, Kim (Ben) Kautz, Daryn (Sabrina) Young, Jessica Carlson and Mitch Smith. She is also survived by 25 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. Also by her sister-in-law Betty Attebery Bell, Lois Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017, at 10:00 am at Thomason Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home.
