WEISER – Services for William A. Pletke, 85, Weiser, who died Wednesday at a Weiser nursing home, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today at Northam-Jones Chapel by the Rev. Samuel Meske. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Born May 2, 1883, in Columbia, S.D., the son of George and Emma Pletke. He grew up in South Dakota and moved as a young man to Spokane with his family. He lived there many years.
Later, he came to Idaho to work as a highway engineer for the State of Idaho. After his retirement from the Highway Department he bought the Gem Motel in Weiser, which he operated until ill health forced retirement. Mr. Pletke was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Weiser Kiwanis Club.
Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Laura E. Miller of Columbia, S.D., and Mrs. Marion A. Cullis of Whittier, Calif.; and two nephews, Oliver R. Weismantel of Bath, S.D., and Edwin H. Weismantel of Houghton, S.D.
