WEISER (Special)—Harold Elliot Gochnour, 36, died Friday at his home, Weiser, route 3.
Mr. Gochnour was a prisoner of the Japanese for four years during World War II. He was a civilian worker on Wake Island when taken prisoner. He was a member of the Workers of Wake, Guam, and Cavite.
Mr. Gochnour had been a resident of Weiser for 22 years. He was born May 6, 1914, at Burley and was a member of the First Christian Church of Weiser.
Survivors include his wife, Hildreth; two sons, Robert and Dan, both of Weiser; a step-son, James Gellein, of Weiser; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Gochnour, of Weiser; one brother, Ben, and two sisters, Mrs. Melfred Makin of Soccer Ore., and Mrs. George Dusenberry, Weiser.
Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Northam-Jones Chapel with the Rev. Dan Peterson officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest.
