James Bray
OROFINO — James W. Bray, a longtime Orofino resident and Potlatch Corp. shift supervisor, died Monday at Clearwater Valley Hospital here of an apparent heart attack. He was 55.
He was born May 18, 1941, to Larkin C. and Ethel E. Hawkinson Bray at Weiser, Idaho. He grew up and attended school there, graduating from Weiser High School in 1959.
He married (classmate) Barbara K. Blevins on May 22, 1959, at Winnemucca, NV.
The couple made their home in 1959 at Orofino, where he worked as a licensed barber for 20 years. He also worked at Potlatch Corp. at Lewiston. At the time of his death, he was a shift supervisor in the Consumer Products Division and had been at Potlatch for about 20 years.
He enjoyed traveling and vacationing with his family. He followed and supported his family in competitive swimming for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife at the couple’s Orofino home; a son, Chad C. Bray of Bellevue, Wash.; a daughter, Brook L. Gullickson of Port Orchard, Wash.; two brothers, Clifford D. Bray of Federal Way, Wash., and Robert L. Bray of Orofino; and two grandsons.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens at Lewiston. The Rev. Clarence Howard of Orofino will officiate.
