Jan. 27, 1921 – Mar. 4, 1994
James “David” Grant, 73, of Payette, died Friday, March 4, 1994, in a Boise hospital of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Iowa Avenue, Payette. Bishop Mark Orton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Garden of the Temple, Rosedale Memorial Gardens, Payette. Arrangements are under the direction of Payette Chapel of the Roses.
James “David” Grant
David was born January 27, 1921, at Weiser, a son of Charles and Sarah Grant. From age 9 to adulthood, he resided with his foster parents, Arthur and Eva Breshears, on the Weiser River Ranch, Weiser.
Upon completing his education in Weiser, he already knew he loved farming, and he spent the rest of his life on his ranch in Payette. During his farming career, he received many awards including Grassman of the Year for three years running and awards from the Dairy Herd Improvement Association of the state of Idaho.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
David loved life, including camping, fishing, horses, music, yodeling, gardening, dancing, and most of all, his family.
Survivors include sons and daughters: Sonja Smith, Tom Grant, and others.
