Searching Tip – Use the least amount of words necessary, and choose the correct name from the results. (e.g. “Jones,” not “T Jones,” “T. Jones,” “TS Jones,” “T.S. Jones,” “Ted Jones,” etc. – just “Jones.”)
Married Mary M. Nass on 2-27-1889, Washington Co, Idaho. They had one daughter, Mary Adeline Peck.
The following has been contributed by John H. – the website ‘Ghost Towns of Idaho’ lists James Peck and his cousin John James as the co-founders of Mineral, Idaho – where in 1880 they crossed the Snake River (probably after visiting his sister Elizabeth in Oregon). James is mentioned several times in a book “John Flynn’s Memories of Mineral” along with his wife Mary, his father-in-law Clemens Nass and his cousin John. James and John are listed as having a fruit orchard and being prospectors. James also ran the ferry that crossed the Snake River at Mineral, known as the Mineral Ferry.
