Lela (Hetrick) Garoutte
Lela (Hetrick) Garoutte (age 96), resident of Twin Falls, Idaho, entered into rest on July 18th, 2011, while visiting her family in Spokane, Washington. Born on July 27th, 1925, Lela was raised and attended local schools in Weiser, graduating from Weiser High School with the Class of 1933.
She married Cliff Garoutte, and they spent 51 wonderful years together until his death in 1992. They operated the family photography business and raised their two loving children. Lela was a member of the Grange, Lady Elks, and Garden Club in Weiser. She was a “Great Mom & Grandma,” who was much loved by family and friends. She also loved to sing.
Lela was preceded by her husband, Cliff, and brothers, Joe (Pudge), Everett, Vern (Runt), and Gene Hetrick Weiser. She is survived by her son, Keith (Sandy) Garoutte of Holister, ID; her daughter, Helen (Ed) Yokum of Spokane, WA; two grandchildren, Michael (Becky) Garoutte and Cathy (Steve) Knot; two step-grandchildren, Elias Yokum and Aureleen Porter; great-grandchildren, Taylor (Casey) Garoutte (with 2 great-great-grandchildren), Jordon Garoutte, and Kyle Garoutte; and three step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2012, at 1:00 PM at the Victor Elks Lodge. Private interment will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser, ID. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Idaho Public Television or to your charity of choice. Guestbook: www.ripleyfuneralhome.com
