Mary Zilla Harper Dies in Portland

WEISER (Special) – Mary Z. Harper, 68, formerly of Weiser, died at her home in Portland Saturday, it was learned here Monday.

Miss Harper was born in 1879 in Weiser. She was superintendent of schools in Washington county when she was 20 years old and has been teaching in the Portland schools for some time.

Survivors include one sister, Emma Equals of Boise; two brothers, Henry Harper of Tacoma, Wash., and Ed Harper of Payette.

The remains will be sent to Weiser for services and interment Thursday. Details will be announced later.
