WEISER—Weiser area residents will have an opportunity to see the progress made in developing a 20-acre tract into a complete recreational playground, when the formal dedication of the Community Memorial Park is staged tonight at 8 o’clock.
Following brief comments from several visiting dignitaries, including Mayor Potter P. Howard of Boise, a softball game will be played under the lights with the junior American Legion, ladies, and seven municipal league teams participating for several innings each.
Hundreds of volunteer workers have donated labor and equipment during the past six weeks in landscaping the area, installing poles and lights, erecting backstops, bleachers, and fences, and making all the necessary arrangements for the completion of the grounds, in readiness for the opening of the season, which will be Monday evening.
Mayor Robertson Smith, the municipal recreation committee, and the directors of the Municipal Softball Association are in charge of the dedication program this evening, and a crowd of 2,000 is anticipated.
