Mina (Hudson) Eacker
Mina M. Eacker, 96, of Eagle, Idaho, passed away on December 24, 2011 at Weal Care Rest Home.
A memorial service for Mina will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 30, 2011, at Greenwood Funeral Home with a reception after the service.
Mina was born on October 3, 1915, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Art and Hudson. She graduated from Weiser High School and married Leroy McElroy of Twin Falls. Leroy was killed in action during World War II in 1945. Mina married Ray A. Eacker. Ray passed away 10 days before their 60th anniversary.
Mina worked for Mountain Bell, First National Bank, and during World War II she drove trucks at Gowen Field. She was a member of the Plantation Acres Golf Association.
Mina loved needlework, crossword puzzles, and golf. She and Ray loved to travel the Northwest, scouting out golf courses.
Survivors include her son, Richard M. Eacker (Sandra) of Spokane, WA, daughter Sheila (Jim) of Meridian, ID, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren. One grandson, Donald Hudson of Lake Placid, NY, preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Eacker, and brothers, Richard and Wayne Hudson.
Mina’s family would like to express their gratitude to Corey Manor of Eagle and the wonderful ladies who gave her such loving care. Also, Auburn Crest Hospice provided comfort to Mina and her family in the last few weeks of her life.
