Orion L. Hendry, 77, of 2098 South Fairway Drive, died Monday morning, Dec. 21, 1992, at a local medical center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, in the Henderson Funeral Chapel, 431 North 15th Ave., with Neil Allen officiating, where the family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time. Private Graveside services will be held on Monday, Dec. 28, in the Dry Cemetery, Boise, under the direction of the Aiden-Waggaqner Funeral Home.
Orion was born March 27, 1915, at Wellsville, Utah, a son of Robert A. and Elizabeth Leishman Hendry. He attended schools, graduating from Weiser High School in 1933. He married Geraldine Jennings on Oct. 12, 1940, at Payette.
Mr. Hendry was employed as a Brakeman/Conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years, retiring in 1975, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, golfing, and fly tying. He was dearly loved by his family.
Survivors include his wife of Pocatello; two daughters, JoAnn Hansen, and Marilyn Teed, both of Boise; four grandchildren, Bradley Teed, Tracie Waldren, Jennifer Hansen, and Matthew Hansen; one great-grandson, Alexander Waldren; and also two nephews, Lynn Hendry of Lewiston, and D.C. Hendry of Tucson, Ariz. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
Memorials, in Memory of Mr. Hendry, may be given to the American Lung Association of Idaho, 1111 South Orchard, Suite 245, Boise, 83705-1966.
