Phyllis (Magee) King
Phyllis Jean King, 65, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 1993, at the home of her daughter, Sandra, after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Pastor Greg Reider of the Ustick Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery.
Phyllis was born August 11, 1927, in a forest ranger cabin on Iron Mountain in Washington County, Idaho, to Idaho pioneers, Matt and Frances Magee. She attended schools in Weiser graduating from Weiser High School and Boise Business College.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Arthur King, on October 14, 1949. They had one daughter, Sandra. They lived in Boise and owned several local businesses over the past 40 years and finally retiring in 1985.
Phyllis belonged to Sojourners and was the past president of Women’s Civic Club and an active member for many years.
Phyllis and Art spent many hours snowmobiling and boating and many wonderful times with family and friends at their cabin at Gold Dust Ranch in Cascade.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Rhodenbaugh and her husband, John of Boise; a stepdaughter, Karon Eberhart of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Evadean Bettis and husband, Wayne of Boise; a brother, Jerry Hetrick and wife, Wanda of Boise; four grandchildren, Tammy Bettinger and husband, John of Kuna, Brian Rhodenbaugh of Boise, and Scott and Angie Eberhart of Everett, Wash.; and three great-grandchildren, Britney, Justin, and Crysta of Kuna; stepmother-in-law, Bess King; sisters and brothers-in-law, Iona and Bud Emerson, Leona and Bill Benson, Phyllis Carte, Roger and Glenna Leach, De Reva Hull, all of Boise, and Patsy and Russ Grothe of Beatrice, Neb.; many wonderful nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Camille Rhodenbaugh of Boise. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur, her mother and father and stepfather, Lyle Hetrick.
Pallbearers will be: John Bettinger, Wesley Bettis, Randy Hetrick, Andy Price, Sandy Blodgett, and Bill Benson.
Memorials may be made to Ustick Baptist Church Building Fund, at 3080 Wildwood, Boise, 83704, or to MSTI or flowers may be sent.
