Vena Jean Anderson
GOODING — Vena Jean (Anderson) Fisk, 45, of Gooding, died Sunday at the home of her parents in Weiser.
Born April 11, 1941, in Rio Tinto, Nev.
She attended schools in Boise and Eagle and graduated from high school in Weiser. She worked in Boise several years in the parts department of the Peterson Motor Co. She married Robert L. Fisk July 2, 1962, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Boise several years before moving to the Big Butte Ranch north of Aberdeen. After residing a short while in Gooding, they lived in Wendell for seven years, where she worked for Simerly’s Market. Then they moved to the Gooding area, where they farmed and ran a dairy until moving into town. She worked as a cook at Gooding Memorial Hospital the past two and one-half years.
Mrs. Fisk was a member of the Gooding LDS Church, where she was Primary secretary, Relief Society secretary, and was a counselor for the presidency of the Relief Society.
Surviving are: her husband of Gooding; five sons, David Fisk and Doyle Fisk, both of Boise, Daniel Fisk of West Valley, Utah, and Darius Fisk and Daryl Fisk, both of Gooding; a daughter, Denise Fisk of Gooding; her parents, Lloyd and Vena Anderson of Weiser; two sisters, Mary Lou Tegee of West Jordan, Utah, and Marla Kay Anderson of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Jay Anderson of Dallas, Dee Anderson of South Jordan, Utah, and Dale Anderson of Rawlins, Wyo.; a grandmother, Helen Marchbanks of Lindon, Utah; and a grandson. She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Ray, in May 1984.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Gooding LDS Church, with Bishop Roger Cheney officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at Demaray’s Gooding Chapel Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m.
