Big Improvements at Weiser Ice Plant

The Weiser Ice & Cold Storage Company is undergoing significant upgrades to enhance its operations. Among the improvements is the installation of a new distilling machine equipped with the latest technology for purifying water, ensuring that the water used in ice production is absolutely pure and germ-free.
Additionally, new elevators are being installed in the ice room, and a new three-inch pipeline, stretching 800 feet from the plant to the river, is being put in place. The water undergoes a rigorous purification process, first passing through two filtration galleries at the river before reaching the plant. Once at the plant, the water is filtered two more times before entering the boilers, where it is converted into steam. The steam is then distilled and subjected to two further filtrations before it is frozen into solid ice cakes in the ice cans.
The plant began its seasonal ice production on Monday, with a daily capacity of 10 tons of ice. There are also plans to potentially add a 40×120 foot cold storage addition, which would increase the plant’s storage capacity to 30,000 boxes of apples.
